Here we are at St. Mel's, Dean's home church. We got to hear him his first time as a lector, and his spiritual director said Mass. Father George, who is helping him on his road to discerning the priesthood, gave the group a special blessing afterward. I sensed deeply God's presence at Mass, a very moving experience.That the crucifix hung behind the altar on a wall painted with a gentle sky scene wasn't bad either.
It was well worth getting up at 5:45 am after 3 hours sleep!
