Song by Casting Crowns

"Praise You In This Storm"
(Words by Mark Hall / Music by Mark Hall and Bernie Herms)

I was sure by now
God, You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen", and it's still raining
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

And I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to you
And you raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You
But as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

When this song came on the radio yesterday, the words struck me as being both real and faithful, and since it was exactly what I needed to hear, it brought cleansing tears. We all have stormy times, some more severe than others, and remembering to trust God through and despite it all is important. This song encourages that. He is with us, our provider in times of trouble. Storms always pass. Sunshine is coming, bringing with it the most incredible rainbow!

Macile, that's sweet!

I'm at the flower shop making tons of Mother's Day arrangements; it just came on the radio and guess who was singing at the top of their lungs? ;)

PS Happy Mother's Day!

Hello Esther, I found your post on "the song"!! I believe that tears are a gift from God, I truly do, just as rain is a gift to the earth, our tears express God's love within us...I don't know how to explain it any better than this. When I posted the video on my blog I knew that it would probably make you cry, it is such a powerful statement of faith! Tears = God's love! Hallelujah!

Hi Mibsy: I'm glad you found it! Your comparison of tears and rain is beautiful; where would we be without either one? God uses both to cleanse and renew. I saw a lovely quote this morning on tears and wish I could recall where! If I find it again I'll send it to you.
